Taking care of yourself this 2021

It’s a new year, it's 2021!! and we are already loving it. Maybe last year was a little too harsh for you but 2021 will be THE year to apply everything we learned last year and use it for the better. 

Some of the things we learned from last year was the importance of being with your family, your loved ones, we understood the seriousness of dealing with a topic like health, and at the same time, learning to be happy today because the future is uncertain. And for your New Year’s resolutions maybe you feel doubtful on how to apply all these new learnings into some productive activities this new year. 

Well, truth to be told, we don't have the answers to everything, but we want to start with you this new year, helping you taking care of yourself and protect your health. So we will share some tips about everything that 2020 taught us and we cannot forget in 2021.

1. You more powerful than what you think

We are not talking about Wonder Woman’s superpowers, but about one power that will let you save your life as well as other lives. We are talking about the basis that will help you from getting Covid-19: 

  • Wash your hands constantly.
  • Protect yourself ALWAYS with a face mask. 
  • Keep social distancing with other people. 
  • Have always hand sanitizer with you in case you can’t wash your hands as often as you should. 

We may be entering to a new year, and definitely it’s not a covid-free year, so you might want to take care of yourself and your family with these basic rules that the W.H.O provided us last year to prevent spreading the virus. 


2. Feel everyday

It’s not just about living, but to know how you are feeling each day, feel all the emotions inside of you and release them, and learn about them everyday. We know you are doing  the best you can and that’s awesome. So don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Live one day at a time and experiment all your feelings, each day is a new day to try to do it better. 

 

3. Think about yourself

 This can be a bit ambiguous if you stick with just those three words, but it's time to put yourself as a priority. And as we know and people normally say “easier said than done”, but we are going to present some activities that may help you find this space just for you.

  • Meditate
  • Take 10 minutes of your day and focus on you. What do you feel? How do you feel? What thoughts are worrying you? Meditation will not only teach you to focus on yourself, but you will also learn to listen to yourself, identify your feelings, and learn to breathe.

  • Exercise
  • It is important to keep your body moving, but don’t worry if going to the gym is not your cup of tea, we understand, but this year there are a thousand different ways of exercising such as: practicing yoga, dancing, boxing classes, aerobics, jogging or even walking ... think about it and they will probably fit to you as physical activity. And you know what’s the best part? You can do it from home!!!, there are thousands of videos with exercise routines according to your needs and the level (intensity of the physical activity you are able to resist).

  • Have a Hobby
  • You should also have some activities where both your body and mind need to disconnect. It can be as simple as watching a tv series or a movie, or just “shooting the breeze”. Or maybe if you like hand made activities. You can start your own scrapbook, make bracelets, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles etc. It's about having time for yourself.
